More than 71.23 lakh voters have been cleared for inclusion in Telangana’s final electoral rolls after authorities completed the hearing and disposal of notices issued during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy said 71,23,526 electors had been found eligible as of October 7.
During the SIR process, authorities issued 92,88,180 notices over record discrepancies and missing links. Of these, 91,92,625 notices were delivered, while 95,555 are still pending delivery.
The claims and objections process ended on October 7. Officials have until November 5 to complete the disposal of claims and objections. The final electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on November 9, 2026.
The draft rolls had identified more than 73 lakh voters as absent, shifted, dead or duplicate. The list also included voters whose records could not be linked to the 2002 electoral rolls.
Meanwhile, the BJP has asked the CEO to conduct field verification of about 1.63 lakh voters living in households with 15 or more registered electors.
