Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Telangana Health Minister, on the 6th of March, launched another new project aiming development in the medical sector of the Telugu State.
According to sources, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Minister launched “Telangana health profile” aiming to keep track of the health profile of the people of Telangana, above 18 years of age. The Telangana Health Profile initiative would have health data of the citizens of Telangana, which would be collected through door to door survey, carried out by the TRS cadres and workers of the State Health Ministry.
Mr. T. Harish Rao launched the project at a community health center in Mulugu district, Telangana. He was accompanied by the Panchayat Raj Minister of Telangana, Mr. Errabelli Dayakar Rao and Ms. Satyavati Rathod. During the occasion, Mr. T. Harish Rao said, “197 medical teams have been formed to conduct the exercise and as per the orders by CM KCR, it will be completed in 40 days in Mulugu district. Every team will have a staff nurse, an ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) and three ASHA workers. All the equipment that’s necessary for them has been procured. The preliminary amount of about Rs. 10 crore has been released for the project.”
After inaugurating the new health initiative, Mr. T. Harish Rao also laid the foundation stones for the construction of district general hospital, radiology lab, pediatric unit in the district.
After the survey, an unique identification number would be given to the people of each household and their blood samples would also be taken and 30 kinds of diagnostic tests would be conducted.
Furthermore, if there are any health issues, the TRS Government would ensure treatment to the people of Telangana. Based on the test reports, the health status of the individual would be updated online, taking a step towards a digital health system, benefiting the public of Telangana.
If successful, the pilot project would be implemented across Telangana, digitizing the State Health Sector.
