The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government once again started the work of the Dalit Badhu Scheme implementation. Due to the recent State Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and local bodies elections, the scheme implementation has been halted due to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in force.

On the 21st of December, Tuesday, the K.Chandrashekar Rao Government gave the green signal to release Rs. 250 crores to four mandals in four assembly constituencies. The funds have been deposited directly into the accounts of respective District Collectors for the implementation work.

The TRS Government extended the Dalit Bandhu scheme to four mandals. The four mandals selected for the scheme implementation are: Chintakani mandal in Madhira constituency, Tirumalagiri mandal in Thungathurthy constituency, Charagonda mandal in Achampet constituency and Nizamsagar mandal in Jukkal constituency.

On the 18th of October, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao ordered the release of the money for the implementation of the scheme in the four mandals. As per the orders of KCR, on the 13th of November, the Telangana Finance Department released the money to the Commissioner of the Scheduled Castes Development Department. Now, on the 21st of December, Tuesday, the Scheduled Castes Development Department released the funds to the District Collectors.

According to sources, Rs. 100 crore has been released for Chintakani mandal in Madhira Assembly constituency in Khammam district, Rs. 50 crore each for Tirmalgiri mandal in Thungathurthy Assembly constituency in Suryapet district, Charakonda mandal in Achampet and Kaluwakurty constituencies in Nagarkurnool district, and Nizamsagar mandal of Jukkal constituency in Kamareddy district.

In the past, the State Government had released Rs. 2,000 crores for the Huzurabad Assembly constituency, where the scheme was first rolled out as a pilot project. As of now, the pilot project of the Dalit Bandhu scheme has been launched in the KCR adopted Vasalamarri village and Huzurabad Assembly constituency. Now with the released money, the State Government launched Dalit Bandhu scheme would be extended in the four more mandals, benefiting the Dalits of the mandals.

However, in these four mandals also, the Telangana Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao instructed the district authorities to expedite the implementation of Dalit Bandhu in the four select mandals as a pilot project. The district officials were instructed to provide the scheme to at least 100 families each in every Assembly constituency before the end of the current financial year, which is by March 2022. Collectors will prepare new business ideas and schemes to extend the scheme benefit.

Under the announced Dalit Bandhu scheme, the financial benefits would empower Dalits in Telangana. The Dalit Bandhu Scheme (Dalit Empowerment Program) would provide financial assistance to Dalit families. The Chandrashekar Rao Government would provide Rs. 10 lakh financial assistance directly to the bank accounts of Dalit beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Dalit Empowerment Programme. The eligible families selected as beneficiaries from 119 Assembly constituencies would receive the money to make them financially stable and self sufficient.
