Etela Rajender, the Telangana State Finance Minister presented the State’s fourth budget today in Hyderabad. Few highlights of the budget speech:
- The State Finance Minster Etela Rajender said 19.61 percent growth rate has been achieved.
- The SCand ST welfare funds that have not been spent will be carried forward to this year’s budget. The Funds allocated for the SC and ST welfare are generally based on the population ratio.
- The Telangana State cabinet met on Sunday at the Pragati Bhavan and approved the annual budget for 2017-18. This budget has proposals that have a worth of over Rs. 1.46 lakh crores.
- The cabinet also discussed the allocations required for Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, double bedroom houses, KG to PG free education and also electricity for all programs that are under way in the State.
The Chief minister of Telangana K.C.R., said that this year’s budget will be for the poor and also for the backward castes.
