The District Collectors of Telangana, on the 28th of August, visited the Kaleshwaram Project.  The visit was undertaken upon the directions of K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana.

On the night of the 27th of August, all the district collectors reached Warangal, where Somesh Kumar, the General Secretary of Revenue, conducted a meeting regarding the Kaleshwaram Project.

Somesh Kumar and all the district collectors, on the 28th of August, left for the Medigadda Barrage in a tourism bus, organised by the Tourism Department of the State.

The DCs reviewed the barrage capacity, water availability, gates and other things at the site.  Later in the day, they visited the Kannepalli Laxmi Pump House and then, the Nandimedaram Underground Pump House in the Dharmaram area of Peddapalli district.

The Telangana Police supervised the security arrangements and deployed officers to ensure the safety of the collectors during their visit to the Kaleshwaram Project.

The Kaleshwaram Project is one of the most expensive projects of India, worth Rs. 80,500 crores.  It is situated on the Godavari river, Telangana. With the help of the Kaleshwaram Irrigation Project, 13 districts of Telangana will get water for drinking and irrigation purposes.

The district collectors will return to their respective districts on the evening of the 28th of August.
