T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, on the 23rd of April, assured help to a pregnant woman.
The woman was a native of Madhya Pradesh and is a migrant worker in Telangana. She tried to flee to her native place on foot, when she fell ill and was shifted to a nearby government hospital in Siddipet.
Mr. Rao met the woman and assured her help and promised to drop her home safely after the 7th of May. He said he would drop her home in his car once the lockdown imposed by the Central and the State Government would end on the 7th of May.
The State Finance Minister assured her all the essential needs for survival till then and asked her to not violate the rules during the lockdown.
Mr. Rao told the woman that the Government would provide all the essential needs and appealed not to cross the state violating the rules.
While leaving, Mr. Rao shared his contact number with the woman and asked her to call him in case of any emergency.
This is the 2nd incident in the past week, where migrant workers tried to walk home amid the lockdown.
Meanwhile, Telangana is on the edge to cross 1,000 cases of the Novel Coronavirus. As of 7:00 P.M., the State has a total of 960 cases with 24 fatalities till the 23rd of April.
