Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, asked for a report from the Telangana Government regarding the sexual assault of a four year old girl in Hyderabad.
On the 20th of October, the Raj Bhavan said, Ms. Tamilisai Soundarajan was deeply distressed after going through various media reports on the sexual assault of a minor student of BSDAV Public School, Banjara Hills.
Recently, a four year old girl revealed sexual abuse has done to her by Rajini Kumar, the driver to Ms. Madhavi the principal of the BSDAV Public School, Banjara Hills. The child further said the sexual assault was happening to her for the past two months and the accused Rajani Kumar threatened her with dire consequences if the victim spoke about it to anyone. The accused Rajani Kumar, who worked as a driver for the principal Ms. Madhavi, allegedly misbehaved with many female students, as he had access to enter the school premises and used to come to the school frequently. He was a full time driver of Ms. Madhavi and used to do odd jobs of the school including maintenance of laboratories. Many a time, Rajani Kumar used laboratories as a place to assault the four year old victim multiple times.
The matter came to light after the victim informed her parents about the sexual assault, who later approached BSDAV School and thrashed Rajani Kumar. Soon the Banjara Hills Police department officials rushed to the spot and took the accused into custody and registered a case under the relevant sections of the criminal code. Rajini Kumar has been arrested by the Hyderabad Police and has been booked under sections 364, 376 (a)(b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Child from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act.
Reacting to the media reports of the horrific incident, Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan expressed her dismay and deep anguish and called for immediate action against the culprit, Rajini Kumar. In addition, the Telangana Governor also demanded a detailed report regarding the progress in the investigation from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government.
Meanwhile, the Banjara Hills Police also confirmed the arrest of Ms. S. Madhavi, the Principal of the BSDAV Public School, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, Telangana.
