Telangana HC Grants Arrest Protection To BRS Leader Krishank

The Telangana High Court has granted protection from arrest to BRS social media convenor Manne Krishank in a case linked to alleged false social media posts about Naimisha Reddy, daughter of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Justice T. Madhavi Devi directed the police to issue Krishank a notice under Section 35(3) of the BNSS and continue the investigation as per law.

Krishank had approached the High Court seeking protection from arrest. The case was registered by the Crimes and Detective Department following a complaint by Congress leader Mettu Saikumar. The complaint alleged that Krishank made posts claiming Naimisha Reddy owned several properties and pharmaceutical companies.

Krishank’s counsel argued that police should follow Supreme Court guidelines before making an arrest in offences carrying up to seven years of imprisonment. The government opposed the plea, saying the investigation was still at an early stage.

The court directed police to follow the Arnesh Kumar guidelines while investigating the case.
