Ishan Kishan has opened up about his return to the Indian team after spending time outside the national setup. He said the period helped him work on his fitness, batting and domestic cricket.
Kishan made his comeback strongly in India’s first T20I against the West Indies in Lucknow. He scored an unbeaten 37 as India won by eight wickets.
The 27-year-old said he learned from his mistakes after being dropped. He stayed patient and focused on improving his game through domestic cricket. He believes his performances helped him earn another chance with India.
Kishan also said he no longer wants to worry about being dropped again. Instead, he wants to focus on preparation, scoring runs and helping the team win.
Against the West Indies, Kishan and Shreyas Iyer added an unbeaten 137 runs for the third wicket. India chased down 172 in just 14.4 overs.
