The Telangana Public Health Director Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, said the second wave of the Wuhan virus (COVID-19) second ,ended in Telangana.
As of now, Telangana is witnessing below 500 cases and the active cases of the Novel Coronavirus (COVIS-19) also reduced to 6,939 till date. The recovery rate is also better with 98.34 % and the fatality rate of COVID-19 is 0.58 %.
Considering and reviewing the COVID-19 situation in Telangana, the Public Health Director declared an end to the COVID-19 second wave. Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao also suggested to reopen educational institutions and schools in the State. He said, “This is the time to open educational institutions. Only vaccinated teachers and staff at school, colleges, universities will be allowed. We will ensure COVID-19 tests are conducted regularly.”
However, Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao asked people to be alert about the seasonal fever, dengue and diseases spread by mosquitoes. He said, the Telangana Health Department has taken all the preventive measures to sustain the spread of mosquito larva, which causes dangerous diseases.
In addition to the preventive measures of the State Health Department, the Telangana citizens should also be on alert. The statement of Dr. G. Srinivas Reddy came after there was a rise of Dengue cases in the Hyderabad region, Khammam district and Kothagudem. The Public Health Director of Telangana said, ” So far, 1,200 cases of Dengue have been reported across the State of which 13 districts registered malaria and dengue cases. The Government diagnostics centres are working in 20 districts in the state. (sic.)”
Meanwhile, the Telangana Government led by Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao is preparing to tackle the possible third wave of the deadly Wuhan virus.
The third wave of the deadly Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is expected in mid September or first week of September.
