Eatala Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, on the 19th of August, conducted a meeting with top medical officials.

The meeting was organised to discuss the ongoing situation of the Novel Coronavirus.

In addition, another major discussion during the meeting was regarding seasonal diseases due to heavy rainfall.

Since the past 5 days, Telangana is witnessing heavy rainfall fearing the spread of seasonal disease, fever and infection.

In regard to this, Mr. Rajender directed the authorities to take precautionary measures against water-contaminated diarrhea, mosquito borne malaria, chicken pox, dengue and other viral fevers in the State. He suggested that preventive measures should be taken in coordination with the Municipal Administration, Panchayati Raj and RWS departments of Telangana.

Mr. Rajender also asked officials in the concerned areas in Telangana to spread awareness about these seasonal diseases and be careful.

The Health Ministry of Telangana issues a notice regarding the same.

The medical department also ensured availability of beds, medicines and doctors for the treatment of fever along with the Novel Coronavirus.

The Director General of Public Health has directed Srinivas Rao to take precautionary measures, especially in the rain-hit districts.

Meanwhile, the Telangana State Medical Infrastructure Development Corporation Managing Director (MD) Chandra Shekhar Reddy has been directed to take steps to make all types of medicines available in all hospitals up to the primary health center.

Dr. Ramesh Reddy, Director of Medical Education, directed the Osmania General Hospital and Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) Hospital to be treated as a non COVID-19 hospital so that all diseases can be treated there.

While at urban level, doctors and medical facilities would be provided to patients, in villages, Asha workers and ANS, would see the situation.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Health Minister Eatala Rajender would conduct a video conference with district medical officers and medical health personnel on the 21st of August.
