The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is determined to vaccinate the entire eligible population of the State against the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
On the 25th of November, Thursday, Mr. T. Harish Rao, the Health Minister of Telangana, directed officials to ensure complete vaccination among all eligible people by the end of December. In order to achieve the aimed target, the TRS Government is going to conduct a door to door survey for the authentic completion of the nation wide vaccination drive.
During the survey, the officials of the TRS Health Department would identify and vaccinate all the eligible people, especially ones who have missed their chance of taking doses. In addition, the State Government would also set up vaccination drives at schools, government hostels, college campuses and state run hospitals. The Telangana Health Department also started an awareness campaign to educate people regarding the COVID-19 vaccination and its significance.
Meanwhile, Mr. Harish Rao said, “Out of the 5.5 crores targeted vaccinations in Telangana, the state has administered 3.60 crore doses and another 1.90 crore doses are yet to be administered across the State.”
The State Health Department administered the first one crore doses in 165 days, while the second time, one crore target was achieved in 78 days and third crore vaccination mark in just 27 days. If continued with the same speed, the State is likely to vaccinate 100 % eligible population by December 2021.
