Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts of Telangana were hit by heavy rainfall on Saturday, July 14 leading to a heavy influx in streams near Chhattisgarh and Telangana border. In the villages near Kinnerasani and Taliperu reservoir, the local officials issued an alert as flood levels continued to rise.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, low pressure is likely to form around July 19 over the north of Bay of Bengal causing heavy rains near Odisha and Telangana. Northern parts of Telangana is anticipated to receive very heavy rains in the next few days. Southern districts are likely to experience distributed rainfall.
Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Warangal, Mancheriel, Jagityal, Khammam and parts of Vikarabad and Mahabubnagar districts are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfalls in the next 24 hours.
Districts like Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem have already experienced heavy rains in the last 24 hours due to the attack of the Southwest Monsoon winds. The highest rainfall of 8-10 centimetre was recorded in certain parts of these districts.
The heavy downfall in Singareni district has disrupted the Coal production. A temperature drop of 4 to 6 degree Celsius was recorded in many parts of the district.
