K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister of Telangana, showed disappointment over Dubbaka by election results.

On the 10th of November, Dubbak by election results were announced and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Raghunandan Rao won the elections.

During a press conference after results, Mr. Rao said, “Usually all the parties would work for the welfare of the people and strive to make an imprint in the public heart. The TRS party, in the last six and half years, have seen many victories, however, the Dubbak by election has not come as expected.”

Considering the results of Dubbaka by election as an alert, Mr. Rao said, “We will not boast with victories and will not be depressed with the defeats. We said this earlier and saying this now. The party would analyze the failure of TRS in Dubbak by-election and decide on the future action plan.”

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) secured 61,302 votes in Dubbaka by elections.

The BJP and the INC secured 62,772 and 21,819 votes respectively.

After Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Dubbaka passed away, the MLA position fell vacant. Mr. Ramalinga Reddy died of a cardiac arrest, on the 6th of August at a private hospital in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The three major parties in the by election race were: the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Indian National Congress (INC.)

The three candidates of the TRS, the BJP and the INC are Ramalinga Reddy’s wife Solipeta Sujatha Reddy, M. Raghunandan Rao and C. Srinivas Reddy, respectively.
