Ms. Sabitha Indra Reddy, the Education Minister of Telangana, ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the suicide of an intermediate student.

On the night of the 28th of February, a student of Sri Chaitanya College in Narsingi committed suicide.

According to the sources, the student, identified as Satvik was allegedly committed suicide amid stress at the college.  Reacting to the unfortunate incident, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Minister directed Inter Board Secretary Naveen Mittal to take action against those responsible for the tragic incident and a thorough probe.

The incident came to light after Satvik’s parents filed a complaint with the police.  In the complaint, Satvik’s parents named Krishna Reddy, Acharya, and Warden Naresh as accused, responsible for the suicide of Satvik.  Furthermore, fellow students have claimed that Satvik committed suicide due to stress in college, and they allege that the staff did not provide adequate care even though he was in a critical condition.

The students also said, amid his critical health condition of Satvik, they took him to the hospital themselves.  They also claimed that they have been targeted and beaten in the hostel, and are expressing their grievances.

In response to Satvik’s death, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and other student unions protested in front of Sri Chaitanya College and demanded action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Police registered a case into the matter and launched an investigation.
