Amid the ongoing political drama in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi Government elevated Mr. Saurabh Bharadwaj and Ms. Atishi, as Delhi Cabinet ministers.
On the 1st of March, hours after the resignation of Mr. Mamish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, were elevated as ministers.
According to sources, Arvind Kejriwal has sent the names of AAP Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi to Delhi LG V.K. Saxena for their induction as cabinet ministers. After approval of the Delhi Governors, the new ministers would take the oath within the next 48 hours, confirmed sources close to the development.
The decision to elevate new ministers was taken by the AAP Cabinet to ensure the smooth functioning of the ruling AAP Government.
Meanwhile, Mr. Manish Sisodia is a prime accused in the ongoing Delhi Liquor Policy Scam. He is currently under the radar of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and has been remanded to judicial custody until the 4th of March.
