The Telangana Monsoon Assembly Session is set to begin from today, the 24th of September.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has made all the necessary arrangements for the Assembly and Legislative Council sessions, in the wake of the ongoing Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Mr. Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, the Telangana Assembly Speaker and Mr. Bhoopal Reddy, the Council Protem Chairman of the Assembly, reviewed all the arrangements for the session, set to begin on Friday. In addition, the Telangana Assembly Speaker directed all the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs,) government department officials and others to strictly follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
Ahead of the Telangana Assembly session, a meeting was organised to discuss the arrangements of the Assembly session. The meeting was attended by Mr. Vemula Prashanth Reddy, the Legislative Affairs Minister, Mr. Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, Mr. M. Mahender Reddy, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana and other State Government officials.
During the Monsoon Assembly session, the K. Chandrashekar Rao Government is likely to table five draft bills, including a Revenue Registration Act and Housing Development Corporation Act. A debate over the recently launched the Dalit Bandhu Scheme is also expected to be a part of this Assembly session.
The TRS Government is also likely to make a statement on Krishna River and Godavari River issues with Andhra Pradesh. The Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) management, situation and precautions for the possible third wave would also be discussed. In addition, discussion over the recent Saidabad rape and murder case would also occur during the Assembly.
Besides this, the State Government would also discuss the growth and development of the agriculture sector and upcoming cultivation plans.
However, a final decision regarding the agendas of the Monsoon Assembly Session would be drafted by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC.) The committee is scheduled to hold a meeting and decide the duration and finalise the agenda of the Monsoon Assembly Session.
