In Telangana, over 60 lakh farmers received the Rythu Bandhu scheme money till the 24th of June.
Recently, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) released funds for the Rythu Bandhu scheme for eligible farmers in the State. Under the scheme, approximately 63 lakh farmers would get an amount of Rs. 5,000 for the kharif season. The amount deposit process started from the 15th of June and would be completed by the 25th of June. In regard to this, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Government released an amount of Rs. 7,400 crores.
However, many beneficiaries in the State complained that some banks were withholding the amount, due to which farmers were unable to withdraw the money. As soon as the issue came to the notice of the State Government, T. Harish Rao, the Finance Minister of Telangana, held an emergency meeting with bankers and the concerned officials. During the meeting, T. Harish Rao asked banks not to withhold the amount credited in the farmers bank accounts.
T. Harish Rao along with the Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar asked bankers to immediately release the amount credited under the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
During the meeting, T. Harish Rao asked all the state bankers to issue strict instructions to their respective bank branches. The State district collectors were also instructed to monitor the situation and ensure farmers are getting the Rythu Bandhu amount at district level. A state level team will monitor any issues faced by the farmers.
In regard to this, the State Government immediately launched two toll free numbers. Farmers facing any issue related to the Rythu Bandhu scheme could contact at numbers — 8002001001 or 04033671300 between 8:00 A.M., to 8:00 P.M.
The State government has been depositing Rythu Bandhu funds directly into the bank accounts of farmers since December 2018.
