The Telangana Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, crossed 6.50 lakhs. On the evening of the 10th of August, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updates about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
According to the released bulletin, the State witnessed a total of 494 new cases, a slight rise compared to the previous day’s single day cases of 453.
Besides new cases, Telangana reported 3 fatalities and 621 recoveries from the deadly virus.
With this, Telangana now has 6,50,353 positive cases, of which 8,112 are active cases, 6,38,410 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,831 are deceased.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting COVID-19 tests of 89,037 samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.29 crores till date.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Medchal Malkajgiri, Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (80) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (26) and Rangareddy (23) cases. In addition, Karimnagar, Nalgonda and Warangal Urban are also the regions which have been reporting a rise in the COVID-19 cases since the past few days.
Meanwhile, with a slight fall in the COVID-19 cases, the active containment zones also decreased to 25 from the previous 29 with no micro containment zones in Hyderabad.
The recovery rate of Telangana also improved and is at 98.16% from the previous 98.14% and the fatality rate of COVID-19 at 0.58 %.
It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.80 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.20 % are symptomatic. In addition, a total of 1.60 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses has been administered in Telangana till date.
