The Telangana University Students Joint Action Committee (JAC) gave a call for “Chalo Raj Bhavan.”
On the 7th of November, Monday, the Student JAC condemned the delay in approval of the Telangana Common Recruitment Board Bill, passed by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.) The bill which would be helping scholars and eligible candidates to have direct recruitment for teaching position in universities is yet to be approved by Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana.
Upset over the delay in approval, the Student JAC cautioned that if the bill is not passed before the 8th of November, they would lay siege to the Raj Bhavan, as a protest. The JAC also claimed that in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan is delaying the approval of the Telangana Recruitment Board Bill. In the recently concluded State Legislative Assembly Session, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, presented the bill. The Telangana Recruitment Board Bill 2022 was passed unanimously in the session. The bill would not only reduce legal snags and delay in recruitment but would bring transparency to staff recruitment.
The Telangana University Student JAC said, “Despite knowing that she had no option but to approve the Bill, the Governor is intentionally delaying the approval of the Bill. Politics is being unnecessarily brought into policy matters.”
Unless the Governor does not approve the Bill immediately, the JAC said thousands of students from all the state run universities would participate in the ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan.’
