Police Steals from Businessman

Demonetisation move by PM Narendra Modi has been applauded as a commendable move by the world.

An LB Nagar traffic inspector was suspended on Tuesday for duping a businessman of Rs. 25 lakhs. Khaja Moinuddin was taken into custody by the Rachakonda police in regard to the same.

The traffic inspector asked his staff to take an Innova vehicle into custody at Nagole on October 28. The Innova owner, Bandaru Kushalaiah was a rice businessman from Miryalaguda. He was carrying an amount of Rs. 1.25 crores in cash. The inspector then asked the businessman to pay Rs. 50 lakh as a bribe so that he (Moinuddin) wouldn’t alert the Income Tax Deparment.

The rice businessman who had collected the money from merchants said that the money was legal. He then approached Cyberabad traffic DCP A.R. Srinivas. The DCP then alerted Rachakonda commissioner, Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat, who conducted a departmental inquiry about the incident. In the meantime Moinudiin, the Inspector returned 25 lakhs out of the bribe on November 29. The Rachakonda commissioner, Bhagwat issued, “For misusing his official position and indulging in corrupt practices, I suspended inspector Khaja Moinuddin.”

Traffic police bribes are quite common in our Country. But these are in general limited to small amounts.
