In Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa, a tragic accident was reported killing 15 people and leaving as many as 40 people severely injured.
On the 22nd of October, Saturday, a bus carrying 60 people collided with a trolley. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday near Suhagi, Pahari in Rewa. While 15 people died on the spot, 40 received severe injuries and were shifted to a state run hospital in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Getting into the details, the bus was going from Hyderabad to Gorakhpur and all the passengers were residents of Uttar Pradesh, mostly labourers, going home for Diwali.
Meanwhile, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan condemned the accident and shared a series of tweets. A tweet read, “The rescue operation is in full swing.”
In another post, he stressed, “In this hour of grief, we are standing with those who have lost their family members.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan also shared the details of the accident with the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath. Following the incident, Mr. Yogi Adityanath announced a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh for the family of those who lost their kin, and Rs. 50 thousand for those injured. Mr. Yogi Adityanath said, “My sympathies are with the families affected.”
The rescue operation is underway and an investigation has also been launched.
