On the 14th of December, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) had a landslide victory in the Council election.
According to the media sources, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS won six Members of the Legislative Council (MLC) seats unanimously. The State conducted the MLC election for 12 seats. While the TRS won 6 seats unanimously, the remaining seats were won with a majority of votes. With this, the TRS secured all the 12 seats in the Local Bodies election.
Getting into details, TRS candidates Mr. T. Bhanuprasad Rao and Mr. L. Ramana, won from Karimnagar Local Authorities Constituency (LAC), Mr. Vanteru Yadava Reddy from Medak LAC, Mr. Tata Madhu from Khammam LAC, Mr. M.C. Kotireddy from Nalgonda LAC and Mr. Dande Vittal from Adilabad.
Mr. Yadava Reddy won 762 votes, while Mr. Bhanuprasad Rao and Ramana received 584 and 479 votes, respectively.
In Nalgonda, Mr. M.C. Kotireddy received 917 votes and Dande Vittal earned 740 votes out of a total of 862 in Adilabad.
The TRS candidates received more than half of the votes cast for the seat, accounting for more than half of the total votes cast. All other applicants are eliminated.
Although the TRS is leading and is set to win the Legislative Council election, the formal announcement is yet to be made.
