The paddy procurement issue between the Telangana Government and the Central Government, is increasing with every passing day.
After getting no response from the Central Government over the demand of paddy procurement, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) decided to take the matter to Delhi. On the 18th of December, a TRS delegation will leave for Delhi.
Consisting of TRS ministers like Mr. S. Niranjan Reddy, Mr. Kamalakat, Prashant Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, E. Dayakar Rao, P. Ajay Kumar and TRS Members of Parliament (MPs,) the delegation have sought appointment of Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.
The TRS is constantly asking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government to procure paddy from farmers in Telangana. This year, Telangana Government procured 60 lakh tonnes of paddy from farmers and asked the Central to purchase it. The decision to send the delegation was taken at a TRS meeting called by Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.
The meeting was held on the 17th of December, Friday, to discuss paddy procurement issues. TRS MPs, Legislatives, Councils, Ministers and others participated in the meeting.
Meanwhile, the TRS is likely to protest against the paddy procurement issue in Delhi, on the 20th of December.
