TRS To Run Additional TSRTC Buses For Jatara 2020

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government decided to deploy additional Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses across the State.

During a meeting between TSRTC officials and State Government officials, the TRS decided to run as many as 4,000 additional buses from 51 depots in view of Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara 2020.

Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara is one of the biggest festivals of Telangana, scheduled to begin from the 5th of February 2020. 

The festival is celebrated to honour Hindu goddesses in the Mulugu district of Telangana and is a tribal Hindu festival organised by the Koya tribe in Telangana.  It is one of the major festivals which witnesses lakhs of devotees in remote forest areas of Medaram in Mulugu district.

Vinod Kumar, the Executive Director (ED) of the TSRTC, said additional bus services must be provided across Telangana.  The TSRTC employees started working on increasing the number of buses on the 6th of December.

According to sources, in 2020, approximately 22 lakh people are expected to attend the festival. 

The facility of online reservation would be available for the additional bus services.  There would also be AC buses travelling from Hyderabad.

The additional TSRTC buses to Medaram would start running from the 1st of January 2020.
