The Telangana Rashtra Samithi Karmika Vibhagam (TRSKV), the labor wing of the ruling Government, extended support to the Nationwide Bandh, protesting the privatization of the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs.)

The TRSKV also extended their support to the nationwide strike, called by trade unions, on the 28th and the 29th of March, against the Central Government.  On the 20th of March, Sunday, Mr. B. Vinod Kumar, the Telangana State Planning Board Vice Chairman said the party would expose the privatization conspiracies and anti people policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government.

It is to be noted, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP Government is aiming to privatize public sector undertakings (PSUs.)  The decision has upset many trade unions across India, which claimed the decision could affect the livelihood and locals, relying on these public sectors for employment, for years.

Notably, Railways, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the banks and petroleum companies are being up for privatization, by the Central Government.

Raising voice against the privatization, Mr. B. Vinod Kumar addressed a preparatory meeting organized by all the trade unions and pointed out that no private company could surpass the achievements of the LIC and the petroleum companies which have won people’s trust.  He said, “It has been repeatedly proven in practice that only PSUs work effectively with service-orientation towards (the)  people of the country.”  He asked everyone, who believes in democracy to extend support to trade unions and make the nationwide strike against the Visakhapatnam steel plant a success.

The preparatory meeting was attended by the representatives of various union trades like the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC,) the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC,) the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU,) the Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS,) the TRSKV, the International Federation of Trade Unions (IFTU,)  the Telugu Nadu Trade Union Council (TNTUC,) All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC,)  Railways, Bank and Airports trade unions.

Furthermore, the PSUs Trade Unions Telangana Convener Mr. V. Danakarna Chari, the State  Coordinator Mr.  L. Roop Singh and leaders of various trade unions attended the meeting.
