Chief Secretary S.P. Singh who holds a full additional charge as Special Chief Secretary of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department assured the same. He ordered the officials to enable underground ducts and passages wherever pipelines have to cross roads.

Under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the government has issued guidelines to officials to construct the cement concrete roads without drains in the rural areas. As there is no heavy traffic in the rural areas there is according to the government, no need for very thick roads. The thickness of the roads should be as per specifications of Indian Road Congress manual on any main village that links to the main roads that are likely to have high traffic keeping in view the local requirements. An estimated time of 28 days has been given to the officials with the flow of traffic to finish the works.
