Union Minister Kishan Reddy Speaks About The Lockdown And COVID-19 Prevention

Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister of State Home Affairs, on the 8th of April, spoke about the Nationwide lockdown and its extension.

Mr. Reddy urged every citizen of India to cooperate and fight the Novel Coronavirus by taking social distancing seriously.

He said, despite easing of the lockdown after the 15th of April, people should not come on to the roads for unnecessary reasons, but to buy essential commodities in an orderly manner.  They should follow the guidelines set by the health officials which could prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.

The Union Minister said the Central Government is working to control the increasing numbers and people of India should support and help in the prevention.

He said, the Government of India (GoI) is working smoothly without any kind of issues like food shortages or other hurdles during the pandemic situation and is using the public money precisely.

The comments of Mr. Reddy came after Sonia Gandhi, the interim President of the Indian National Congress (INC) wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  The letter comprised 5 suggestions by the INC President about COVID-19 and control on the expenses of India.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry of India reported 774 cases of the Novel Coronavirus infection cases in less than 24 hours.  With these updates, India reported more than 5,000 cases and 160 plus deaths till the 8th of April.

Maharashtra also crossed 1,000 cases of COVID19, making it the first State of India with the highest number of positive cases, followed by Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Telangana.
