The Telangana Government, on the 8th of April, reported 404 cases of the Novel Coronavirus Or COVID-19 infection in the State.
The cases increased with a rapid hike of 40 cases overnight with only 45 cases of recovery and 11 deaths. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) confirmed the 40 new cases to be linked with the Delhi’s Tablighi Jamaat Congregation
According to the media bulletin released by the State Government, Hyderabad has the highest number of COVID-19 cases, followed by Nizamabad. While Hyderabad reported 171 cases, Nizamabad reported 36 cases.
K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, urged the citizens to stay indoors and also demanded an extension of the Nationwide lockdown. On the 7th of April, KCR urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend the 21 day Nationwide lockdown for 2 weeks more.
The extension would help the Country to curb the spread of the virus which has infected 5,494 people and killed 170 till date in India.
