Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, the President of the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) also commented on the ongoing Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) poaching row.
On the 28th of October, Thursday, after the political drama in the Telugu State, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila questioned the TRS and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders about their roles. She further posed questions to the public, whether the TRS MLAs are innocent or the BJP leaders– who denied the allegations of luring the TRS MLAs.
It is to be noted, in Telangana, the TRS alleged the BJP of luring their MLAs and trying to poach them by offering an amount of Rs. 100 crores. However, the BJP denied the allegations and called it a fabricated story presented by the TRS to distract voters. The turmoil came at a time of the upcoming Munugode Assembly by election, scheduled to be held on the 3rd of November.
Addressing a public meeting, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila also took a dig at the Telangana Police, who arrested three people linked with the BJP, for allegedly offering Rs. 100 crores, to the TRS MLAs. Ms. Y.S. Sharmila said, “BJP is stating that they don’t have any role in the case and alleged that KCR is playing the drama.” She further questioned why the police arrested only BJP leaders and took four TRS MLAs into Pragathi Bhavan instead of arresting them.
Moreover, taking a dig at the TRS Government, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila asked why the TRS MLAs, who were poached by the BJP are not allowed to interact with the media. She even asked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government to order a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the TRS MLAs poaching matter.
Meanwhile, both the TRS and the BJP are yet to respond to the criticism and remarks of Ms. Y.S. Sharmila.
