On Thursday, a retired Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan allegedly committed suicide in his house in Pragathi Nagar in Jawahar Nagar. The 59 year old shot himself in the head.
The man, identified as M. Ralumu retired from the CRPF six years ago. He was living with his family. Over the last one year, he was suffering from depression due to ill health. He was partially paralysed.
According to the police, he shot himself with a licensed single bore rifle when his family members were not around.
Police have registered a case and probing into the matter.
