Tamil Nadu: A carcass of a giant 33 feet long Whale was found on the banks of a village beach near Tarangambadi in Nagapattinam district. The carcass was sighted by the fishermen of Chinnagudi village at the early hours before they could even start fishing at the beach.
Gopinath Forest Range officer said,‘The 33 feet long Whale was around 5 tonnes and this was sited by the fishermen.’ As the corpse was highly decomposed, the fishermen and the forest department did an autopsy on the spot. The Whale was later buried.
The reason behind the Whale’s death is unknown.
