Watch: Adventurer Alison Teal Surfed Next To Erupting Volcano In Hawaii

Adventurer Alison Teal is the first woman to surf right next to an erupting and lava-spewing volcano. She was captured by the photographer, Perrin James. Teal is seen riding on her pink surfboard inches away from the exploding Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii.

The photographer also did an incredible job. He took amazing pictures and a video of Teal. She took to her Facebook page and shared her experience. She wrote, “With the guidance, support, and prayer of the elders, and following cultural protocol, I paddled within feet of hot lava rivers pouring into the ocean. It was humbling and breathtaking. The rawness, the heat, the crackling and hissing sounds, the reality check that we live on a planet that is alive.”
