Watch: Uber Driver Allegedly Sleeps While Driving, Customer Forced To Drive

New Delhi:  An Uber driver allegedly slept off on his trip from New Delhi to Gurgaon by leaving the customer with no choice other than taking wheels by himself.
Ishaan Gill, a financial analyst in Gurgaon’s multinational company booked a cab at Defense Colony in Delhi on May 15th at around 12:30am to go to Gurgaon.
The incident came into light when Gill posted a small video on his Facebook account, the status read, ‘Had a horrific experience with UBER last night. My driver fell asleep on the wheel because he took “pills” to keep him up longer. He had to be shaken up by me to prevent a crash from happening. I personally had to put him in the passenger seat and drive his car back by myself. Pathetic background checks obviously. Very disturbing.’
In the morning, I informed Uber about the incident through an email and a feedback form. Gill claimed he received a call from Uber offering him a reimbursement of Rs 500 which he declined politely.
“I just wanted them to ensure background check of drivers. What if he hit the car?” Gill asked.
