On Thursday, cops were astonished when they worked on a tip off and raided a house in Chandranagar, Chintal. Neighbors complained of a foul smell coming out of one of the apartments and called the police.
The police broke into the apartment and to their surprise they found blood stains on the apartment floor.
T. Goverdhan, Assistant Commissioner of Police at Balanagar reported, “We broke the lock and entered the house. Dried blood stains were visible on the floor, but no body parts could be seen immediately. We felt the stench emanating from under the shelves in the room. The area was newly plastered with a mix of cement, small stones, and sand. When we dug up the area, initially the head of a man and torso were found.”
The cops could smell something decomposing from the shelves. The police found a portion under the shelves that had new cement and sand. After digging it out the cops found a cut up body of a male. The police even found a hacksaw blade in the room.
“We found a thigh and hands in one pit. Another thigh and the lower portion of the legs were found in the next pit. The parts were decomposed and covered in cement,” C. Shankar Reddy, Jeedimetla Inspector revealed on Thursday.
The owner of the house, Mahadev Gupta gave out the single apartments for rent. The house where the body was found was rented out to two people. The two have been Identified as Vivek Vidur Jha, 27 and Bhuvan Kumar Jhan, 31. The two are both natives of Bihar.
The ACP informed the media, “Vivek and Vidur moved into the flat a year ago after informing Gupta that they were pharma company workers. The landlord did not know the name of their company.”
The neighbors informed the police that they last saw Bhuvan leaving the apartment on Sunday morning.
“We found some ID cards of the two and an Aadhaar card of one Pradhan. We have not yet identified the victim and four special teams were formed to identify the victim and arrest the culprits,” Y. Sai Shekar, DCP at Balanagar.
The ACP further informed, “We shifted the body parts to Gandhi for post mortem and the identity of the victim is yet to be established.”
After investigating the neighborhood, the police found Vivek and Bhuvan had been living in the city since 2014 working at private companies.
The cops tried calling Vivek’s and Bhuvan’s phone, only to realize they were both switched off. Vivek’s phone was able to be traced and found the cell phone’s last activity at a tower near Secunderabad Railway Station on Sunday.
One of the cops on the case revealed, “The victim could be one of the two roommates or another person called Pradhan. And, anyone of them could be the culprit.We are analyzing CCTV camera footage of the Secunderabad railway station to zero in on the offender.”
