Even though North Korea recently received another sanction from the United Nations Security Council the country refuses to comply. On Friday, it fired another ballistic missile over Hokkaido, the Northern Japanese island. This is the second launch over Japan in less than one month.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe showed his displeasure and said it was “totally unacceptable” and was against “the international community’s strong, united will for a peaceful solution.”
Reports suggest that the missile fired was an intermediate range ballistic missile similar to the first one fired over Japan.
The South Korean government released a statement that read, “North Korea’s firing of yet another ballistic missile is a clear violation of (UN Security Council) resolutions and a very serious and grave challenge to international peace and security.”
Prime Minister Abe further stated, “The international community needs to unite and send a clear message after North Korea’s dangerous provocation. We must let North Korea understand there is no bright future for North Korea if it continues in this way.”
North Korean set off the missile after responding to the Uniter Nations sanction and threatened to sink Japan and reduce it to ash and darkness.
Japan and the United States have sent a plea to the United Nations Security Council to conduct an “urgent consultation” at 3:00 P.M., Today.
