Shatrughan Sinha, a Member of Parliament (MP) candidate of the Indian National Congress (INC,) on the 29th of April, filed his nomination to contest the Lok Sabha elections from the Patna Sahib constituency in Bihar.
Shatrughan Sinha, who left the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joined the INC on the 6th of April, filed his nomination in Patna Sahib. He addressed a roadshow upto the office of the district magistrate from Kadam Kuan, the resident of Mr. Sinha.
Luv Sinha, the son of Shatrughan Sinha, Party leaders and his fans accompanied Sinha on the roadshow with much enthusiasm.
After attending the roadshow, Mr. Sinha filed his nomination papers from Patna Sahib, which he represented since the Lok Sabha elections of 2014. During the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Shatrughan Sinha represented the BJP and won the Patna Sahib Parliamentary seat.
Mr. Sinha submitted his nomination papers to the Returning Officer (RO) of the Patna Sahib constituency in Bihar.
Post filing his nomination papers from Patna Sahib, Sinha took to Twitter and asked for blessings from the people in the constituency. He is the current MP for Patna.
Mr. Sinha will contest against Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Law and Justice Minister of India, representing the BJP.
Bihar will contest a total of 40 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, divided into 7 phases. Out of the 40 seats, the State contested a total of 19 seats on the 11th of April, 18th of April, 23rd of April and 29th of April, in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th phase of the elections.
The polling for the remaining 21 seats will be conducted in 3 phases, which are scheduled on the 6th of May, 12th of May and the 19th of May 2019.
The major parties contesting the Bihar Lok Sabha elections are the Indian National Congress (INC,) the BJP and the RJD.
The results of the Bihar Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
