On the 1st of July, the Andhra Pradesh Health Department confirmed 657 fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
With the new cases with a huge spike, the total number of cases reported in the State stands at 15,252.
Out of the total 657 cases, 90 cases were from Kurnool, 118 from Anantpur, 52 from Krishna, 77 from Guntur, 80 from East Godavari, 35 from Chittoor, 15 from West Godavari, 60 from Kadapa, 33 Nellore, 21 Visakhapatnam, 28 Prakasam and 2 Vizianagaram.
Remaing cases were either from different states reisding in Andhra Pradesh or foreign evacuees.
According to the Helath Department update, the State has 15,252 positive cases of the Novel Coronavirus, 8,071 are active cases and 6,988 are discharged/cured casss till the 1st of July.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, six coronavirus deaths were reported, taking the overall toll in the state to 193.
The State till the 1st of July, conducted 9,18,429 sample tests for the Novel Coronavirus.
The State Government decided to increase the test capacity and are conducting rapid tests in the State.
As of 2020, the population of Andhra Pradesh is 4.97 crores.
