After reporting below 500 cases of the Novel Coronavirus for a few days, the State on the 19th of December reported 627 cases.
In the past 24 hours, the State registered 627 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths and 721 recoveries.
Of the new positive cases, 123 cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) 52 from Rangareddy, 48 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 32 each from Karimnagar and Khammam and 29 from Warangal Urban.
The remaining cases 26 each were from Bhadradri Kothagudem and Nalgonda, 25 from Mancherial, 21 from Siddipet, 20 from Sangareddy, 15 from Peddapalli, 14 each from Suryapet and Jagtial, 13 from Nizamabad, 11 each from Jangaon, Mahabubnagar, and Warangal Rural, 9 each from Yadadri Bhongir, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Rajanna Sircilla and Mahabubabad, 8 each from Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad and Mulugu, 7 each from Vikarabad and Wanaparthy, 6 from Medak, 5 from Nirmal, 3 from Karimnagar and 1 from Jogulamba Gadwal.
Narayanpet once again reported zero cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
With this, Telangana so far has recorded 2,80,822 positive cases, of which, 2,72,370 are recovered/discharged cases, 6,942 active cases and 1,510 deceased cases.
Of the 6,942 active cases, a majority of 4,814 are in home isolation and the remaining 2,128 are under institutional care.
In addition, between the 17th and the 18th of December, the State Health Department conducted 46,694 COVID-19 sample tests.
The total tests include 20,545 on primary contacts and 5,603 on secondary contacts. Of which, results of 669 samples are awaited.
Till the 19th of December, Telangana Health Department conducted 64,01,082 tests for the COVID-19 infection.
The recovery rate of Telangana also improved and currently at 96.99 % and the fatality rate is at 0.53 %.
