The Indian Government is all set to send the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 vaccine to 7 more countries.
Recently from the 20th of January, India send COVID-19 vaccine to Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Mauritius, Seychelles and Bangladesh.
The Government of India (GoI) decided to send vaccines as a gift to the aforementioned countries.
The two vaccines which were sent to these nations are the Serum Institute of India (SII) manufactured Covisheild and the Hyderabad based Bharat Biotech International Private Limited manufactured COVAXIN.
In future, the two vaccines would be send to Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Brazil, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.
The Indian Government is waiting for regulatory clearance, following which the COVAXIN and Covisheild consignments would be prepared.
India is world’s second-worst virus-hit nation with over 10.5 million infections and 152,718 reported deaths, kicked off the world’s largest inoculation drive on Saturday. Of the 674,835 people vaccinated across the country by Wednesday, nine people have required hospitalization for adverse effects, according to government data.
India is also preparing to fulfill a shipment to Brazil, which was delayed last week, the people said. The South American nation is among a handful of countries that have received personal assurances from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on vaccine.
