Revanth Reddy Writes To KTR, Asks If TRS MPs are Scared Of PM Modi

Revanth Reddy, the Working President of the Indian National Congress (INC) wrote to K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology and Municipal Administration Minister of Telangana.

Written on the 11th of March, Mr. Revanth Reddy’s open letter questioned KTR over issues in Telangana. The INC Working President asked why the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is scared of the Central Government. He asked why the TRS Members of Parliament (MPs) are silent over issues concerning Telangana in the ongoing Parliament session.

Especially, the issues pertaining to the price hike of petrol, diesel and LPG in Telangana. Amongst all the other metropolitan cities, fuel and LPG prices are highest in Hyderabad.

Mr. Reddy’s letter read, “Are the MPs afraid of Prime Minister Narendra Modi or trying to compromise with the centre’s policies.” It further read, “Leaving all the issues in Telangana behind, the TRS Government has announced that they are extending support to protests launched against the privatisation of Vizag steel plant.” He said, “He (KTR) is not brave enough to fight for the rights of Telangana but wants to extend support to Andhra Pradesh. This is nothing but deceiving Telangana people.”

The INC Working President also lashed out at TRS MPs for not raising their voice in the parliament nor even joining the protest at the ‘Jantar Mantar’.

Recently, Revanth Reddy asked K.T. Rama Rao to go on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar and to protest for the growth and development of Telangana. He even extended his support and said he himself would sit on a hunger strike, if the TRS initiates hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.

Highlighting the upcoming Graduate Member of the Council (MLC) elections, the INC leader said, the TRS Government is extending support to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant protest for publicity. He said everything the TRS is doing now is to gain the public support and secure votes in the MLC elections.

Mr. Revanth Reddy said, “Everyone knows the TRS is in cahoots with the BJP and it fears to question it on the right platforms.”

The MLC elections are scheduled to be held on the 14th of March.

From the TRS, S. Vani Devi, the daughter of P.V. Narsimha Rao, the former Prime Minister of India, filed nominations and from the BJP Ramachander Rao filed the nomination.

As many as 179 candidates have filed nominations for Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar seat and 78 candidates for Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda constituency.

The two Teacher’s MLC posts are important, as the winning graduate MLC would cover 75 of the 119 assemblies.
