Of all the Indian States, Kerala reported the highest number of new Wuhan virus, also known as the Nobel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in 24 hours.
On the 31st of October, the Kerala Health Department reported 7,167 new cases of COVID-19.
Among districts, Ernakulam reported the highest number of new cases with 1,046 cases,Thiruvananthapuram 878, Thrissur 753, Kozhikode 742, Kollam 592, Idukki 550, Kottayam 506, Pathanamthitta 447, Palakkad 339, Malappuram 334, Kannur 304, Alappuzha 270, Wayanad 269 and Kasaragod 137 cases.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting 65,158 sample tests for the Wuhan virus. Besides 7,167 new cases, the Southern state reported 6,439 recoveries and 14 deaths.
With this, the tally of COVID-19 positive cases reached 49,68,657, of which 48,57,181 are recovered/discharged cases, 79,185 are active cases and 31,681 are deceased cases.
Meanwhile, according to the Health Department, only 8 % of the active cases are currently admitted in hospitals or field hospitals Current ICU occupancy of COVID-19 patients in both public and private hospitals in the State dropped to 1,124, ventilator support has been given to 458 patients and a total of 7,276 are in hospital for COVID-19 treatment.
On Sunday, the number of patients in the State newly admitted to hospitals with COVID-19 infection was 515.
