Delhi: The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking the transfer of seven CID cases against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to the CBI. The petition, filed by High Court Advocate B. Balayya, was strongly criticized by the bench led by Justice Bela Trivedi. The bench expressed frustration, stating that the petition was entirely baseless.
Justice Trivedi further warned that any additional remarks regarding the petition would lead to substantial fines. Senior advocate Maninder Singh Siddhavaga, representing Balayya, was cautioned for supporting such petitions. The bench expressed its disbelief, commenting that it was unexpected for senior lawyers like Siddhavaga to involve themselves in such cases.
The Supreme Court ultimately dismissed the petition without further commentary, affirming that there was no merit to the claims made. The decision concluded the legal challenge to the handling of the CID cases against CM Chandrababu Naidu.
