Nellore: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of conceding his inability to fulfill election promises, exposing his inefficiency before the people. Former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, speaking to the media, said Naidu’s attempts to shift the blame for his failures onto current Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the financial discipline of the state have been futile. Reddy claimed that despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Jagan Mohan Reddy had handled the state’s finances effectively, whereas Naidu had focused on wealth creation for his own coterie, rather than for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Reddy further pointed out that Naidu’s government, during its tenure, had borrowed Rs. 1.19 lakh crore in just nine months but had failed to implement any welfare schemes. He also accused Naidu of manipulating data to discredit the previous government and downplay its achievements. In contrast, Reddy highlighted the significant developments made under Jagan’s leadership, including the establishment of three major ports and 17 medical colleges, which he argued contributed to wealth creation for the state.
Reddy also addressed Naidu’s comments on the state’s finances, asserting that the figures Naidu quoted were selective and did not accurately reflect the true financial situation, which had improved significantly under Jagan’s term.
