Kanigiri: Power Minister Gottipati Ravi announced that Reliance is set to establish 500 integrated compressed biogas (CBG) plants across Andhra Pradesh. During his visit to Kanigiri in Prakasam district, he inspected the arrangements for the foundation stone laying ceremony of a Reliance CBG plant.
The first CBG unit will be launched on Wednesday with the foundation stone laid by Minister Nara Lokesh and Anant Ambani, son of Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani. The minister further stated that new CBG units are planned for Markapuram, Giddalur, and Darshi in the near future.
Ravi emphasized that the project will bring unused lands into productive use. He assured that landowners would be fairly compensated, with the government paying ₹15,000 per acre for public land and ₹31,000 per acre for private land acquisition. He also highlighted that these large-scale investments would boost employment opportunities in Prakasam district, significantly contributing to the local economy.
The establishment of these CBG plants is expected to enhance renewable energy production in Andhra Pradesh, making the state a leader in sustainable energy solutions.
