Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh is set to launch a free gas distribution program starting from Diwali, announced at a recent press conference by Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar at the Secretariat. The program, designed to support households across the state, will begin accepting free gas bookings on October 29, starting at 10 am.

Minister Manohar outlined the scheme’s details, stating that citizens will receive immediate updates from the government as soon as a booking is made. Oil companies have assured delivery within 24 to 48 hours, with urban areas prioritized for 24-hour delivery. Additionally, the state will transfer a cash amount directly into the recipients’ accounts within 48 hours of gas cylinder receipt.

The program will be backed by a state investment of Rs. 894 crores, allocated to cover expenses with the oil companies. Minister Manohar also revealed that CM Chandrababu Naidu will present an official check to oil companies on October 29, signifying the program’s formal launch.
