On the 6th of October, Andhra Pradesh topped the list of the National Sample Survey in terms of providing best Health Insurance Schemes.
According to the recently released survey, Andhra Pradesh is the number one State which successfully implemented the Government Health Insurance Scheme in the State.
In Andhra Pradesh, the Government Insurance scheme helped the citizens of the State.
Nearly 76.10 % people of Andhra Pradesh are being treated under the YSR Aarogyasri scheme.
As per the National Sample Survey, Andhra Pradesh is the only State with such medical benefits for citizens.
In the southern states, the underprivileged people are benefited more in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana compared to Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
On the other hand, the survey report also suggested, nearly 85.90 % of people in the country have no insurance at all.
Earlier, the Arogyasri card was available only to those who have a White Ration card in the past.
However, now the Andhra Pradesh Government extended the benefits to people having annual income not more than Rs. 5 lakhs.
With this, more than 95 % of the families in the State are under Aarogyasri in the State.
