The Andhra Pradesh Government led by the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is to complete a comprehensive land survey by 2023.

On the 12th of August, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., asked the concerned officials to complete the survey by June 2023. During a review meeting regarding the same, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the survey should be carried out to reach the target accurately.

Launched on the 21st of December 2020, the comprehensive survey of lands would be carried out to resolve land disputes in the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. The YSR Jagananna Permanent Land Rights – Land Protection program was launched six months ago as a pilot project in the Krishna district.

However, after a survey of 6 months, the YSRCP Government inaugurated the program officially.

The survey would be carried out under the YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhu Hakku Bhu Raksha scheme. The survey would spread over 1.26 lakh sq kms across the State. As many as 17,000 villages would be covered in three phases.

In the first phase, as many as 5,000 villages would be covered, 6,500 in the second phase and 5,500 in the third phase.

The land resurvey would be conducted by a drone under the auspices of the Survey of India. The resurvey is based on latitude and longitude for which 70 base stations would be set up in Andhra Pradesh.

About 14,000 surveyors in the state would take part in the survey process. Of the total surveyors, 420 are fully trained.

All agricultural and non agricultural lands in the State would be resurveyed and demarcated with accuracy, following which permanent rights would be granted to the people of Andhra Pradesh.

However, full authority and rights of the surveyed land would be available after two years, when the comprehensive land survey would be completed.

The Government has decided to complete the entire land survey in the State by August 2023.

After the complete land survey, the registration process would begin.

The village and ward secretariats would be doing the registration of lands in a corruption free and transparent manner.

In addition, the YSRCP President said all the necessary equipment and resources to complete the land survey would be provided. He advised authorities to use the necessary software and to give the best training to the staff, who would conduct the survey.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said, “It will also be reviewed at a conference with collectors as part of the response and the Committee of Ministers should also review once a week as the comprehensive land survey is taken ambitiously.”

Yesterday’s review meeting regarding the land survey was held at the YSRCP Camp office in Tadepalli. Senior officials of the Party and State ministers attended the meeting.
