Amaravati: In a pioneering initiative, the Andhra Pradesh government has launched ‘Mana Mitra’ WhatsApp Governance, a first-of-its-kind digital service in the country. Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated the service at his residence in Undavalli, introducing the official WhatsApp number 95523 00009, which carries a verified tag. This initiative aims to provide civic services, issue certificates, and facilitate public requests seamlessly.

Speaking at the launch, Lokesh described ‘Mana Mitra’ as a landmark under the Chandrababu 2.0 administration, eliminating the need for citizens to visit government offices for certificates. “80% of the services will be provided instantly,” he stated, adding that in Phase 2, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Darshan tickets will also be made available.

Key Features of ‘Mana Mitra’ WhatsApp Governance:

✔ Over 520 services planned across departments
✔ Instant access to certificates, exam hall tickets, and more
✔ QR codes for issued certificates to ensure authenticity
✔ 161 services launched in Phase 1, covering revenue, municipal, energy, and transport departments
✔ Real-time problem resolution with live assistance

The service is currently available in Telugu and English, with plans to expand into multiple languages. Meta Vice President Sandhya commended the initiative, calling it a people-centric digital revolution.
