AP High Court Dismiss Petition Filed Against English Medium Ordinance

The Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) High Court (H.C.,) on the 15th of April, dismissed the petition filed against the ordinance to mandatory english medium in government run schools in A.P.

Recently, on the 23rd of March, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) issued an ordinance  implementing English Medium in all government schools of the State.

According to the ordinance, English medium would be mandatory for the students of class I to Class VI  in all the public schools in A.P.,.

However, it also read the implementation of the English medium would not affect the regional language, Telugu.  The State Government decided to maintain a Telugu medium school for each zone separately, where students can study in the Telugu medium.

Disappointed with the ordinance, Sudheesh Rambotla, a  member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP ) and Guntupalli Srinivas filed a petition in the High Court challenging the same.

On the 15th of April, the A.P., High Court reviewed the matter and reserved the judgement for the next hearing.  The next hearing date is yet to be announced.
